Anuj Chauhan, professor of chemical and biological engineering at Colorado School of Mines, has been inducted into the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) College of Fellows.
Election to the AIMBE College of Fellows is among the highest professional distinctions accorded to medical and biological engineers. The honor recognizes those who have made outstanding contributions to "engineering and medicine research, practice, or education” and to "the pioneering of new and developing fields of technology, making major advancements in traditional fields of medical and biological engineering or developing/implementing innovative approaches to bioengineering education."
Chauhan was nominated, reviewed and elected by peers and members of the College of Fellows “for innovations in ophthalmic drug delivery and biomaterials, including modeling, and founding several companies.”
A member of the Mines faculty since 2018, Chauhan holds a PhD from City University of New York and a bachelor's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, both in chemical engineering. He spent two years as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, Berkeley and served on the faculty of the University of Florida before coming to Mines.
Chauhan was inducted along with 175 colleagues who make up the AIMBE College of Fellows Class of 2026. A formal induction ceremony was held during the AIMBE Annual Event in Arlington, Virginia in April.
