Colorado School of Mines has won the Material Advantage Most Outstanding Chapter Award for the second straight year. Gerald Bourne and Kip Findley are the chapter advisors. Chapters are judged on programming, career development, service, social activities, and chapter management.

The Mines Geology Museum received two awards during the 2015 Denver Gem and Mineral Show: Best Museum Display (of the 24 museums participating) and The Friends of Mineralogy award for Best Educational Exhibit by an Institution.

The International Precious Metals Institute® awarded the 2015 Jun-ichiro Tanaka Distinguished Achievement Award to Corby Anderson, Harrison Western Professor at Mines. The IPMI Jun-ichiro Tanaka Distinguished Achievement Award recognizes important career contributions to the advancement of the precious metals industry, be it technological, commercial, economic or management.
