Miller named 2017 recipient of AIME-SME Mineral Industry Education Award
Hugh Miller, an associate prrofessor in the Department of Mining Engineering, has been selected as the 2017 recipient of the AIME-SME Mineral Industry Education Award by the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration.

Taylor Jacobs, a PhD candidate in metallurgical and materials engineering, won the award for Best Student Paper at the International Pipeline Conference, held Sept. 26 to 30 in Calgary, Canada.
Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Professor Corby Anderson has been named to the Academy of Engineers of the University of Idaho, where he earned his PhD in mining engineering and metallurgy.

Mines’ Division of Economics and Business welcomes Professor Graham Davis back from teaching in Peru at GERENS Graduate School where he was named as the school’s first Honorary Professor. GERENS is a private university in Lima established in 1998 by a group of academics and investors to provide quality graduate education in Peru. Davis accepted this honor from Professor Jesus Armando Gallegos Monteagudo, Director General of GERENS.
