Three Mines students honored with 2014 UCA of SME Committee Scholarship

GOLDEN, Colo., May 13, 2014 –Three UC&T students have been honored as recipients of the 2014 Underground Construction Association of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration Executive Committee Scholarship. Erin Keogh, Lisa Mori and Kevin Hart were each awarded $5,000 scholarships and will be recognized at the North American Tunneling conference in Los Angeles in June 2014.

Hart is a senior majoring in civil engineering with a minor in UC&T and will intern for Kiewit this summer. Keogh is also a senior in civil engineering with a minor in UC&T, has served the past year as vice president for UCA, and will work full time for Kiewit Underground beginning this summer. Mori is a PhD candidate in UC&T with a research emphasis on soil conditioning for EPB tunneling.
