Recent Mines graduates continue to thrive in the two years following graduation, according to the latest survey data from the Mines Career Center.

A total of 97 percent of students who graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Mines during the 2022-23 academic year reported positive outcomes in a 2024 survey, a categorization that includes accepting a job, entering graduate school or going into government or military service.  That’s up from a reported 94 percent at the time of graduation.

“I’m continually impressed with how Mines students have such durable success,” said Wendy Winter-Searcy, director of the Mines Career Center. “Even when there are dips in the economy or struggles in the labor market, Mines students still continue to do very well.”

Graduates from the Class of 2023-24 also reported strong overall positive outcomes of 93 percent in the most recent survey data. Among undergraduates, 74 percent graduated with technical work experience.

The 2024 report found graduate students are thriving as well. One year post-graduation, the 2022-23 master’s degree graduates reported a 98 percent positive outcome, a tick up from their already strong 97 percent positive outcome rate at graduation.

PhD students are similarly doing well. The 2022-23 class currently has a 98 percent positive outcome rate one year after graduation, with the 2023-24 class reporting 97 percent positive outcomes.

Twice a year, Mines hosts one of the largest Career Fairs on the Front Range, with hundreds of employers attending over the two-day events.

“The Mines graduates we have hired full-time have demonstrated exceptional performance in their respective disciplines. They arrive equipped with extensive knowledge that thoroughly prepares them for their roles,” said Leah Davis, HR representative and recruiter at Mewbourne Oil Company. “These graduates possess a notably high caliber of engineering expertise. In most instances, their aptitude surpasses our expectations.”
