Two EECS faculty members receive IEEE Fellow

Two EECS faculty members have been elevated to the grade of IEEE Fellow:

  • Tracy Camp, with the citation "for contributions to wireless networking." (Tracy is now one of only seven women in the networking/communication field that are both ACM and IEEE Fellows)
  • Marcelo Simoes, with the citation "for applications of artificial intelligence in control of power electronics systems."

IEEE Fellow is a significant honor as only 0.1 percent of the world-wide membership is elevated to Fellow annually.

De Moor selected to receive 2016 Society of Manufacturing Engineers Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer Award

Assistant Professor Emmanuel De Moor has been selected to receive the 2016 Society of Manufacturing Engineers Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer Award in recognition of his significant accomplishments in support of the manufacturing industries.

Rebennack awarded INFORMS ENRE “Young Researcher Prize of 2015"

Associate Professor Steffen Rebennack (EB) was recently awarded the INFORMS ENRE “Young Researcher Prize of 2015". The ENRE Young Researcher Prize is awarded to one or more young researcher(s) for an outstanding paper on the application of OR/MS to an important problem in energy, natural resources, or the environment. The prize serves as an esteemed recognition of promising researchers who are at the beginning of their academic or industrial career.

Wu receives best paper at super computing conference

Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Assistant Professor Bo Wu and College of William and Mary Assistant Professor Xu Liu won best paper for "ScaAnalyzer: A Tool to Identify Memory Scalability Bottlenecks in Parallel Programs” in the Proceedings of the International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage and Analysis in Austin, Texas.
