Worth it: Mines makes list of most valuable colleges

Colorado School of Mines research in Bradford Hall

Colorado School of Mines is included in Colleges Worth Your Money, a new list of 150 colleges and universities selected because of their value to prospective students. Using different factors, such as financial aid packages, career outcomes, and academic rigor, the guide selected institutions that provide an all-around good value, with specific metrics outlined to help prospective students research which of the schools included might best fit their personal circumstances and aspirations.

Mines was selected for the guide because of a reasonable tuition rate (especially for Colorado residents) compared to post-graduation starting salaries and because half of incoming students received an annual need-based grant. The guide also describes other factors that make Mines desirable, like its attractive Golden location, robust sports programs, and proximity to Denver and the Rocky Mountains.

Mines is one of four schools in Colorado included in the guide, along with Colorado College, University of Colorado Boulder and University of Denver. The guide is available now on Amazon.
