Speer receives AIST award

GOLDEN, Colo., May 8, 2012 – John Speer, professor in the George S. Ansell Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Colorado, was recently awarded the Association for Iron and Steel Technology's (AIST) Distinguished Member and Fellow award.

Speer received the fellowship during the AISTech 2012 conference in Atlanta.

The award, established in 1975, is awarded to an AIST member who has made outstanding contributions to the iron and steel industry and has contributed to the activities of the association.
