Mines ranks in U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Graduate Schools”

GOLDEN, Colo., March 12, 2013 – Colorado School of Mines ranks 57th in U.S. News and World Report’s 2014 ranking of engineering graduate schools, an increase from last year's ranking of 63.

Several of Mines’ graduate programs also ranked highly, including:

  • Earth sciences: 25th
  • Environmental/environmental health engineering: 27th
  • Materials engineering: 36th
  • Chemical engineering: 47th
  • Physics: 77th

U.S. News rankings are based on expert opinions about program excellence and statistical indicators measuring the quality of a school's faculty, research and students.
