Capstone students design "Swiss arm" for injured veteran

A team of Colorado School of Mines students spent their senior year designing a “Swiss arm” for a U.S. Navy veteran who lost part of all four of his limbs while serving in Afghanistan.

Taylor Morris asked the Capstone Design team to incorporate four tools that he uses daily into the arm – a pen, an electric lighter, an X-acto knife and a laser pointer/flashlight – for easy and convenient access.

The multitool prosthetic arm project was sponsored by the nonprofit organization Quality of Life Plus.
