Seetharaman selected for distinguished lecturer award

Colorado School of Mines Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Professor Sridhar Seetharaman has been selected as the recipient of the 2019 Extraction and Processing Division’s Distinguished Lecturer Award.

The award recognizes an outstanding scientific leader in the field of nonferrous extraction and processing metallurgy. Seetharaman will have the opportunity to present a lecture to more than 4,000 attendees at the 2018 annual meeting of The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society (TMS).

Seetharaman joined Mines in 2017 from the U.S. Department of Energy, where he served as a senior technical advisor, and was previously a professor at Carnegie Mellon University and Warwick University. His research interests include materials production using clean and energy-efficient processes and developing materials for clean energy production.

Seetharaman will receive the award at the 148th TMS annual meeting in San Antonio, Texas, in March 2019.
