GOLDEN, Colo., March 24, 2015 – The Colorado School of Mines President’s Distinguished Lecture Series will feature Doug Lawler, president and CEO of Chesapeake Energy Corporation, at 4 p.m., March 31, in the ballrooms of the Ben E. Parker Student Center, 1600 Maple St. in Golden.

Lawler’s talk, “Culture, Ethics and Business Performance,” is free and open to the public.

Lawler, who earned his bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from Mines in 1988, has been president and CEO of Chesapeake Energy since 2013. Before joining Chesapeake, he held various leadership positions with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. He began his career with Kerr-McGee Corporation.

He currently serves as an executive committee member for American’s Natural Gas Alliance and is a board member of the American Petroleum Institute, Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association, State Chamber of Oklahoma and Business Roundtable. Lawler serves on the boards of United Way of Central Oklahoma, the Last Frontier Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the Houston Grand Opera.
