GOLDEN, Colo., Sept. 17, 2014 – On Sept. 24, Colorado School of Mines will host Dr. Elaine Dorward-King, executive vice president of sustainability and external relations at Newmont Mining Corporation, as she discusses “Engineering Shared Value: An Engineer’s Role in Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development at Newmont.”

Prior to her role at Newmont, Dorward-King led development and implementation of sustainable growth, safety, health and environmental strategy and programs in the mining, chemical and engineering consulting sectors for 25 years.

The Humanitarian Guest Lecture, co-sponsored by Engineers without Borders-Bridges to Prosperity, will take place at 4 p.m. in Marquez Hall, room 222.
