Director of Texas Instruments Solid State Lighting Unit to lead Mines' commercialization effort with Innovation Center of the Rockies

BOULDER, CO (Nov. 27, 2012) – The Innovation Center of the Rockies (ICR) is pleased to announce Joe DeNicholas has joined the ICR team and will be the program manager working directly with the Colorado School of Mines Office of Technology Transfer (OTT). 

Will Vaughan, director of the Mines OTT, said, “Joe and the ICR are key players in helping move Mines’ world class engineering technologies closer to commercially viable products and services. The commercialization effort enhances the academic mission of the school by getting our inventions into the commercial world.” 

“Joe is the ICR’s point person at Mines helping facilitate the ICR process to move invention from an academic setting into the commercial world. To do this, Joe leverages the ICR database of 1,400 industry experts and his background developing new technology for Motorola, National Semiconductor and Texas Instruments” commented Tim Bour, executive director, Innovation Center of the Rockies.

The Innovation Center of the Rockies provides a dedicated program manager to Mines who works closely with the OTT and faculty to understand the key elements of the invention, background and expectations around the process. In addition to Mines, the Innovation Center of the Rockies has also partnered with the University of Colorado, the University of Denver and Colorado State University to provide commercialization support.
