A research team led by Colorado School of Mines Civil Engineering Assistant Professor Shiling Pei is in California this summer, conducting earthquake tests on a two-story wooden building on the world's largest outdoor shake-table. The researchers are trying to see if the unique wooden design could become the future standard for construction in earthquake zones. Local media outlet KGTV San Diego had four cameras at the test to cover the event. Watch the video below to hear from Pei.
