Petroleum Engineering Adjunct Professor William Fleckenstein was recently interviewed by Denver Channel 7 in regards to the fatal home explosion that occurred last month in Firestone, Colorado. After initial investigation, the cause of the explosion was determined to be a cut flowline from a nearby abandoned gas well, operated by Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. The home was located approximately 178 feet from the well, with the foundation located only six feet from the cut flowline.
