The Colorado Energy Research Collaboratory delivered a massive return on investment over the course of eight years, according to an economic impact report released on September 1, 2016. The Collaboratory is a clean energy research consortium of which Mines is a member. Together with UC Boulder, Colorado State University and NREL, Mines researchers have been working towards renewable energy and energy efficiency since 2008. According to the Denver Business Journal, the $194 million impact “constitutes a return of 24:1 on the state’s original $7.96 million investment.”
