CBS4 in Denver has highlighted the work of Department of Chemistry researchers in developing a listeria detector that could also be eventually modified to detect and prevent other food-borne illnesses, such as salmonella and e. coli. The video features graduate student Nick Stambach and Professor Emeritus Kent Voorhees. The project is funded by Advanced Industries grant program, operated by the Colorado Office of Ecnomic Development. The program is funded in part by taxes from Colorado casinos.
