The infamous Seattle tunneling project to replace the city’s aging infrastructure is a massive multiyear operation that requires many players, two of which are global chemistry leader BASF Corporation and the Colorado School of Mines. BASF provided many products needed for the tunnel construction, and teamed up with Mines’ Center for Underground Construction and Tunneling to conduct research on some of these materials.
